Dear Community Members,
Once again it’s time for us to show our unity and solidarity during this challenging and devastating time for our brethren in Tibet especially in Drugchu, northeastern Amdo. Due to devastating mudslides which hit Drugchu in northeastern Amdo Province of Tibet on early Sunday, at least 127 people have been confirmed dead and over 2,000 still missing.
TAW will hold Mani and Monlam prayer service at Sakya monastery at 6pm to
7pm TODAY, Monday 9th August. We request every community member and friends of Tibet to attend. Thank you, Jampa Jorkhang (TAW President)
Please note that TAW is not endorsing Lobsang la specifically but rather taking this opportunity to engage community members in this historic upcoming election which His Holiness has urged Tibetan citizens to take part in as a use of our basic democratic freedom and rights - a gift that our brethren cannot enjoy under the Chinese rule.
Dr. Lobsang Sangay is a Senior Fellow at the East Asian Legal Studies Program at Harvard Law School. He studied at CST Darjeeling, BA Read the rest of this entry »
