North American Tibetans offer Gratitude Tenshug to His Holiness the Dalai Lama

The 13th Conference of North American Tibetan Associations (NATA), held in Washington DC from August 30 to September 1, 2014 has unanimously resolved to offer a gratitude tenshug to His Holiness the Dalai Lama to celebrate his 80th auspicious birthday. The NATA’s prayers were graciously accepted. The Core Organizing Committee had two meetings in Minnesota in December 2014 and Washington DC in January 2015 respectively. These meetings discussed every aspects of organizing this grand event and gave final shape to what NATA plan to do.

In the meantime, the Office of His Holiness has advised that there is a slight change in His Holiness visit schedule and hence the North American Tibetan Association’s Gratitude Tenshug event has to be rescheduled. We are also happy to learn that we have been given an extra day of teaching by His Holiness. As such, Now the North American Tibetan Associations Gratitude Tenshug & His Holiness’ 80th auspicious birthday celebration will take place in New York on Thursday & Friday, July 9 & 10, 2015 instead of Washington DC, Saturday, July 11, 2015 as was announced earlier. His Holiness will give two teaching sessions on Thursday, July 9, 2015 ( topic of teaching to be announced later) and conferment of White Drolkar Long Life Empowerment (drolkar tsewang) on the morning of Friday, July 10, 2015 followed by offering of Long Life Prayer to His Holiness.

The afternoon session will be devoted to celebration of His Holiness’ long life and his untiring service for the welfare of the Tibetan people in particular and world at large. We expect that the Tibetan community will be joined by people from Himalayan Region and Mongolia beside other followers and admirers of His Holiness.
