Former political Prisoner Palden Gyatso la passed away

One of the most well known former Tibetan political prisoner and activist has passed away at the Delek Hospital in Dharamshala at 7:10 am local time on (November 30, 2018). He was 87 years old. Gyatso who spent 33 years in Chinese prison and concentration camps in occupied Tibet said earlier that he was suffering from weakness and liver-related complications since the last few months. Losang Thonden la has spent his entire life in the service of Tibetan Community. He first served the Tibetan Government in Exile in the department of education in early 1970s. He was one of the key figures in organizing first Tibetan Education Conference in 1973. He later joined the Library of Tibetan Work and Archives. Jigdal Dagchen Dorje Chang. We will spend six days practicing Chenrezi Drub Choe prayers and making offerings, and on the last day we will hold a candlelight vigil in the evening.
